Managing your squad and player stats
Stats only help if “Rahul” and “Rahul S” are not two different people in the database. This guide covers habits that keep Play & Track records clean.
Use one identity per player
In CricFuego, squad members are tied to stable player records in the group. Prefer adding someone once and reusing that squad entry every week. Avoid creating a second player with a nickname spelling for the same person — that splits their batting and bowling history.
Agree on display names early
Pick a naming style for the season: first name plus initial, or first and last name. Write it down in the group chat once. When a new player joins, add them carefully instead of improvising a short name that collides with someone already on the list.
Captains and sides
Before Play & Track starts, assign players to Team A and Team B and set captains. Changing sides after scoring has begun is how wrong batting cards appear. If someone arrives late, add them to the correct side before they face or bowl.
When someone leaves the group
If a member leaves, their access to that group’s live scores and history ends according to the app’s leave-group behaviour. Historical matches already played stay in group history for remaining members. Do not recreate the whole squad from scratch after one person leaves — keep the existing player list for everyone else.
Reading personal vs group stats
Group stats reflect matches scored in that group. Personal stats pull together what you have played across groups you belong to. If numbers look low, check whether some games were scored with Just Score (no individual cards) or under a duplicate player name.
Practical checklist before season games
- Squad list reviewed the night before
- No duplicate names for the same person
- Invite code shared with regulars who need access
- Mode chosen: Play & Track for stats, Just Score for casual totals
